With Melton Youth Communities
On Wednesday the 14th of September, Melton Youth Communities came to prepare our year 6 students for high school next year.
They engaged students in a range of activities including ‘cracking the code,’ to prepare them for opening lockers; making glitter jars to explain the feelings and emotions they may experience in the lead up to high school and the first few weeks of school; a quiz where they needed to read a timetable to answer various questions such as who is the teacher for mathematics?
Students had the opportunity to ask questions they had and found the experience enjoyable and walked away from it feeling calmer and more at ease for the changes ahead.
