Building Teamwork and Resilience
On Thursday 13th November, our Year 2 students enjoyed a fantastic Camp Day, which included an incursion with Emma from Supreme Incursions. The day was filled with hands-on activities that helped students develop important teamwork and resilience skills in a fun and energetic way.
During the incursion, students rotated through a series of engaging challenges designed to build communication, problem-solving, cooperation, and leadership skills. Activities were tailored to suit our younger learners, with a strong focus on taking turns, listening to others, and working together to achieve a shared goal. Emma also encouraged students to reflect on their strengths and how they can contribute to a positive team environment. It was wonderful to see our Year 2s showing persistence, trying new things, and supporting one another throughout the day.
Thank you to Emma and Supreme Incursions for providing such a valuable and memorable experience for our students!
Back in the classroom, students continued exploring teamwork through fun science activities. They worked together to make dancing corn and created mini volcanic eruptions using bicarb and vinegar. There were lots of excited faces as students took turns, shared equipment, and watched the surprising results of their experiments.
At lunchtime, all Year 2 classes came together for a hot chip picnic, a highlight for many! Once the rest of the school headed home, the camp day fun continued with a rocket-launching competition in Padua Hall, followed by a lively game of bingo. Students finished the afternoon with a picnic afternoon tea before being collected. They were certainly tired, but had an incredible day filled with learning, teamwork and happy faces!
