Year 2 Fundraising Success – Caring for God’s Creation
Last term, our Year 2 students worked hard to fundraise for a very special cause – adopting a platypus through the WWF! With great enthusiasm and teamwork, the students created and sold handmade bracelets and keyrings during the school concert.
We are thrilled to share that in total we raised an incredible $443.30 through sales and donations! We are so thankful to our wonderful school community for supporting this project and helping our students make a real difference.
With the funds raised, we have officially completed the platypus adoption process through World Wildlife Fund Australia (WWF) and also purchased a platypus stuffed animal for each Year 2 class. Each class will soon hold a fun competition to choose a name for their class platypus.
We are currently exploring local wildlife organisations where the remaining funds can be donated to continue supporting the protection and care of native animals. A further update will follow once this decision has been made.
A huge well done to our Year 2 students for their compassion, creativity, and commitment to caring for God’s creation—and thank you again to our school community for your generosity and encouragement. Not only did you help our students put their learning into action but also helped to protect one of Australia’s most iconic species.
