Year 6 Volleyball Lightning Premiership

Last week, our Year 6 students travelled to Heathdale Christian College to compete in the District Volleyball Lightning Premiership. It was a fantastic day of sport, teamwork, and determination as students represented our school with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

Throughout the day, our teams showed impressive skill and effort on the court, ducking, diving, and working together to keep rallies alive. Both teams played exceptionally well in the round games, winning all their division matches and finishing first to secure spots in the finals.

In the finals, both teams faced tough competition. The boys’ team played strongly against Heathdale Christian College but were narrowly defeated 21–12. The girls’ team also fought hard in their final against Melton South Primary School, but lost by 6 points.

We are incredibly proud of the effort, teamwork, and positive attitude shown by all of our players. A big congratulations to our boys team: Dhoul, Joel, Deng, Leo, Ahu, Sui Za, Bawi Bawi, and VaBienisa, Captained by Harjovan and Elnathan, and our girls team: Isabella, Eden-Grace, Lily, Abor, Nei Nei, Heidi, and Adhel, Captained by Achan and Charlot, for representing our school so well.

Year 6 Cricket Lightning Premiership

Our cricket teams had an outstanding day of competition, with the girls finishing second overall and the boys securing first place undefeated. Congratulations to our captains, Amreen and Viraaj, for their excellent leadership throughout the event.

Both teams demonstrated impressive teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect for their opponents. A special mention goes to Viraaj for achieving what may be one of the highest one‑over scores recorded—an incredible 58 runs!

The day was a tremendous success, and we are extremely proud of the both the boys team: Viraaj (captain), Aarish, Japjot, Uday, Vivian, Lavan, Manraaj, Karstan, and our girls team: Sneha, Shreya, Unnathi, Amily, Zoie, Nandhannah, Riyansika, Jade, Amreen.

Thank you also to the staff who supported and coached the teams on the day. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to compete, show resilience and enjoy sport with other schools in the district.

Year 6 Tennis Lightning Premiership

The Grade 6 tennis team recently travelled to Wedge Park to compete in the Lightning Premiership. Throughout the day, the team played six rounds of both singles and doubles matches against a number of other schools.

After all rounds were completed and the results were tallied, our team finished in 2nd place, earning a spot in the grand final playoff for 1st place in the tournament. The final was a very close contest, and after a fantastic effort from everyone, we narrowly missed out on the title, losing 8 sets to 6.

Congratulations to all the students who participated on the day for their effort, teamwork and sportsmanship. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and determination on the court. With performances like these, we certainly have some future champions in the making
