Italian News

In Italian this term, the middle and senior students have been using the exciting literacy strategy “Colourful Semantics” to construct sentences about healthy eating, in particular, fruit.

This strategy uses a colour pattern to help students create various sentences. Each colour represents a part of the sentence, such as the subject, verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs, communicating in Italian with their peers and teachers.

They have worked individually and in groups to explore various sentences, for example: “Spesso io mangio la mela rossa. (Often, I eat the red apple). They have created their own sets of colour cards, making their own ‘Word Banks’ to increase their Italian vocabulary.
