Foundation Wow Work

Celebrating the Foundation students efforts this term

It was so exciting welcoming all the Foundation students back to school yesterday! There were a lot of smiling faces, waves, hugs and endless chatter being shared between friends.

Remote learning has been a really big learning curve for teachers, students and parents! We would like to thank all of the parents, grandparents and carers for taking the time to learn how to use Seesaw and guiding your child through learning from home.

Today we would like to celebrate all of the learning done so far this term.

In Religion this term we celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, where we learnt how to pray the rosary. We are learning about Mary and her story of becoming a mother which will lead into the birth of Jesus and learning about advent.

For Inquiry our big question is “Why does it move?”, we will investigate motion and forces such as push and pull. Students have had the opportunity to explore their toys and test which force is used when playing with them.

During Literacy we have been reading information texts and finding facts to put into our information reports. We have learnt what is a diagram and to include a title. Students also have been practising identifying the initial, medial and ending sounds in a CVC word.

In Maths we have been learning about addition and subtraction. Students are exploring different strategies to assist such as the count all, count on, friends of ten, doubles and count back strategy.

Thank you for all of your support,

The Foundation Team

Ms Porritt, Miss Corver, Mrs Grosz, Mrs Harris and Ms Topcuoglu
