Year 2 classroom news
Last term, our Year 2 students explored the important theme of stewardship in Religion. Together, they learnt that being a steward of God’s creation means caring for the world around us, showing gratitude for the gifts we have been given, and taking action to protect our environment and community.
As part of their learning, the students wrote thoughtful letters to The Most Reverend Archbishop Comensoli, Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne. In their writing, they shared the wonderful ways they are already acting as stewards—such as recycling, saving water, caring for animals, and helping others. They also described new commitments they have made to be even better stewards of creation, inspired by the call of Pope Francis in Laudato Si’.
These published letters have now been completed, and we are very proud of the effort and care that all children put into this task. Seven students from Year 2 have been specially chosen to have their letters sent directly to Archbishop Comensoli. We hope and pray that we will receive a reply, and will be sure to share this with families if and when it arrives. Please enjoy reading the letters that were selected, and the photo of those fortunate students.
Our Year 2 students are a shining example of how small actions, done with love, can make a big difference in God’s world.
