Year 4 Inquiry Unit
This term’s Inquiry learning we are investigating the big question “Where and how are we connected to the rest of the world?”. We started the term off with a provocation where the students observed and handled a variety of natural resources and images and sorted them into four different habitats found in Australia, desert, ocean, rainforest and bush. We researched where Australia sits on the world map and which countries are our neighbours.
We then had an incursion with Cosmodome, where we learnt that climate refers to the long-term, average weather patterns in a specific region. It includes various meteorological variables like temperature, humidity, precipitation and considers the interactions between the Earth’s systems.
Students were extremely engaged throughout the whole incursion that offered a unique experience which immersed them in space and Earth.
