School Values
This year, St Anthony’s Primary School has been and will continue to work closely with the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) team with the implementation of the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework across our school community.
PBL is a whole-school approach that promotes positive behaviour and engagement within schools. It helps create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for every student. A key feature of the PBL framework is the explicit teaching and recognition of positive behaviours that reflect our shared school values.
An important part of this process is recognising the work that has gone into our current school values, while reviewing and updating them to better reflect our community in 2026. Through this process, we are identifying 3–4 core values that we, as a school community, believe are essential for St Anthony’s Primary School. These values will complement our Catholic identity and guide the way we learn, interact and grow together each day. Once established, students will be explicitly taught what these values look like in different settings across the school, and how they can demonstrate them through their actions and words.
Earlier this term, staff worked together to develop a shortlist of possible values that we believe could form the foundation of PBL at St Anthony’s in 2026 and beyond. As our community voice is central to building a strong and connected school community, we are inviting all parents and carers to take part in this important process by completing a Google Form survey to identify values for our school. We ask that you please select the three values you believe are the most important for our school community to promote, teach and celebrate.
If you would like to contribute, please submit your response by this Sunday, 31st May 2026.
Students will also complete the same task during school time by selecting three values that are important for them in a hands-on activity at school over the next two weeks.
Once students, parents, carers and staff have completed the survey, the PBL team will review all responses to help determine the values that best reflect the vision and culture of St Anthony’s Primary School and will guide our PBL framework moving forward.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
