Literacy at St Anthony’s

Literacy News

Over the last two weeks students have been borrowing from our school library and should now have also started their home reading, using books chosen at school or from home.

In our classrooms children have been very busy writing, learning about letters and sounds and why words are important and mean different things.

Here are some samples of what we learned!

Foundation – Year 2

If you haven’t yet purchased a reading satchel or library bag for your child, please do so as soon as possible.

Our school values books and would like your child/children to be able to borrow them. Enjoy the benefits of reading with your child/children at home, and to help us look after our books, please send your child to school with their satchel or library bag.

Bags can be brought from:

  • Smiggle
  • Big W
  • Best and Less
  • Kmart
  • The Uniform Store

Library

Exciting news from our library!  We have new books on our shelves.

Please ensure your child/children have a library bag (supermarket plastic bags, cotton bags, any bag that will protect our books). Unfortunately, books will not be able to be borrowed out unless your child has a protective bag.
