School Closure Day – Michael Ymer Staff PD
On Friday 17th February, all staff were fortunate enough to spend the day learning from mathematics consultant, Michael Ymer.
Despite the heat, the staff enjoyed his enthusiastic and entertaining presentation and learnt exciting ways in which students can be engaged in math lessons. Michael focused on the importance of making math learning authentic for our students, through the use of hands-on materials and real life stories and problems.
We will welcome Michael back to St Anthony’s in March, where he will model for our teachers what these lessons should look like in the classroom.
