Lest We Forget
On this 25th of April, 2026, we pause to remember and honour the service and sacrifice of all Australian and New Zealand men and women who have served in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations across the globe.
ANZAC Day marks the anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli in 1915 — a campaign that forged the ANZAC legend and shaped the identity of our two nations. It stands for much more. It is a day when we reflect on the courage, mateship, endurance, and selflessness that define the ANZAC spirit — values that continue to live on in our defence personnel and in all Australians and New Zealanders.
As we commemorate the 111th anniversary of Gallipoli this year, we are reminded that the legacy of the ANZACs is not confined to the past. It echoes in the way we support one another, rise to challenges, and strive for peace and understanding in a complex world.
We remember those who never came home. We honour the veterans among us. And we acknowledge the families whose lives were forever changed. Their stories are our history. Their legacy is our responsibility.
Let us continue to pass this remembrance on to future generations — not just through ceremonies, but through actions that embody the spirit of service, unity, and respect.
We thank the families, students and teachers who attended the dawn service last week.
