Fire Carrier Leaders
On Thursday the 15th of October St Anthony’s Primary School officially became a certified Fire Carrier School. The Year 5 and 6 Fire Carriers attended the ceremony with Ms Porritt and Mrs Bairstow, which was conducted at the Aboriginal Catholic Ministry.
The day involved understanding the role of a Fire Carrier and how the school can raise awareness and work towards standing in solidarity with First Nations peoples on the path to a meaningful reconciliation. Our group was immersed in some beautiful artwork and were inducted into the Fire Carrier program by Auntie Cheryl in a special fire ceremony.
