Symphony of Stories
Book Week 2026 is just around the corner, and we are excited to celebrate this year’s inspiring theme, “Symphony of Stories!”
Books have a wonderful way of bringing people together, sparking curiosity and opening the door to new worlds. Throughout Book Week, our students will enjoy a range of exciting literacy activities that celebrate the joy of reading, storytelling and imagination. Together, we’ll discover how every story adds its own unique voice to create a beautiful symphony of stories.
As part of our celebrations, we invite all students to come dressed as a favourite book character for our Book Week Dress Up Parade on Friday 28th of August. Costumes can be as simple or as creative as you like homemade outfits, favourite characters, or even a hat or prop inspired by a beloved book are all welcome.
Our focus is on celebrating books and the love of reading together. Please remember that all dress ups need to be appropriate for school. Children who are dressed inappropriately will be required to change, therefore please ensure they are dressed suitably for a primary school event.
There are many ways you can join in the excitement at home:
- Read together each day and talk about your favourite characters and stories.
- Visit your local library and discover a new author or series.
- Encourage your child to retell a favourite story or create one of their own.
- Share family stories and traditions that have been passed down through generations.
Reading together helps children develop language, build vocabulary, strengthen comprehension and, most importantly, discover the lifelong pleasure of books.
We look forward to celebrating Book Week with our school community and creating lasting memories through the magic of stories. Thank you for supporting your child’s reading journey and helping us foster a love of literature.
Parents and carers are welcome to join us for the Book Week Dress Up Parade on Friday 28th of August at 9.15am in the school gym.
Let’s get ready to turn the page into a world of imagination and celebrate the wonderful Symphony of Stories!
