16th March 2026
On Monday 16th March, we celebrated the International Day of Mathematics at our school. It is celebrated worldwide on March 14th each year. The theme this year is ‘Mathematics & Hope’ and all students had the opportunity to participate in both the ‘Guess the Lollies’ and Colouring competitions to celebrate the day.
There were three winners for the ‘Guess the Lollies’ competition. In the F-2 Snackle Box there were 149 lollies, in the 3/4 Snackle Box there were 304 lollies and in the 5/6 Snackle Box there were 732 lollies.
A BIG congratulations to the following winners:
- F-2 winner: Adut M from 2C who had the closest guess of 147 lollies.
- 3/4 winner: Nyanawut M from 3A who guessed the exact amount of 304 lollies.
- 5/6 winner Koushik N from 6D who had the closest guess of 743 lollies.
We also had one winner from each year level for the Colouring Competition. There were so many beautiful colouring sheets to choose from so choosing only one winner from each year level was difficult. The following students were selected as winners based on their thoughtful colour choices, patterns and creativity. Congratulations to the following students:
- Kanavbir B from Foundation A
- Nadar S from 1B
- Jake D from 2C
- Namar K from 3D
- Beihmokhai K from 4B
- Gavin M from 5D
- Shaina K from 6B
The winning pictures will be displayed in the hallway between the Year 4 and Year 3 classes next week so make sure you check them out.
Thank you to everyone that got involved in the competitions to celebrate the International Day of Mathematics at our school!
