Child Safety Team
The Child Safety Team, in partnership with our Student Leaders, is excited to launch our Walking to School Bus initiative.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, two staff members will meet students at a designated location and walk together as a group to school. This initiative promotes student safety, independence and physical activity, while also helping to ease traffic congestion around the school during morning drop-off.
We encourage families to support this initiative by either walking with their child to the meeting point or dropping them off at the designated location to join the group.
Key details:
- Set days: Weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Location: Green Path starting point – Corner of Hume Avenue and Mathers Street (Bill Cahill Reserve, Melton South)
- Time: Students are to meet/be dropped off from 8:35am. The group will depart promptly at 8:40am to walk to school.
If you wish for your child to join the Walking to School Bus, please ensure they arrive on time. Staff will be unable to wait beyond the departure time in order to ensure all students arrive at school for the 8:50am start. For easy identification, please look out for our staff members wearing orange safety vests at the meeting point.
Thank you, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office on 03 8099 7800.
