Lady Northcote Discovery Camp
Our Year 6 students recently had the incredible opportunity to attend Lady Northcote Discovery Camp, a bush adventure camp set in the beautiful Rowsley Valley. Surrounded by nature, this three-day experience was packed with fun, friendship, and personal growth.
The camp was designed with a number of key goals in mind:
- To ensure all students could enjoy the benefits of a school camp
- To build class unity through shared experiences
- To extend social learning beyond the classroom
- To promote self-esteem, leadership, cooperation, and tolerance
- To support the development of independence and resilience
From the moment we arrived, the excitement was high! Students stayed in cosy rooms with bunk beds, adding to the adventure of being away from home. Each day was filled with exciting activities including frisbee golf, canoeing, orienteering, archery, and the ever-popular giant swing – a thrilling challenge that many students were proud to conquer.
Evenings brought a different kind of magic. We gathered around the campfire to roast marshmallows and enjoyed a night walk under the stars.
Throughout the camp, students encouraged one another, stepped outside their comfort zones, and demonstrated wonderful teamwork and spirit. It was fantastic to see them grow in confidence, take on new responsibilities, and create lasting memories with their peers.
Congratulations to all of our Year 6 campers for embracing the adventure with such positivity and enthusiasm.
We know the skills, friendships, and memories made at Lady Northcote will stay with them for years to come!
